Daddy Loves His Baby Girl

  1. This first week with our new baby girl Zoamore has been amazing! Chelly is such an incredible Mom, Zoa is truly blessed to be able to call her Mommy!

After one week Zoa is already coming alive. With smiles here and there and wiggling all over the place. She might become a dancer or an air traffic controller with how much she throws her arms around. I don't think I ever saw her with both hands at her sides. When she was still in the womb she always wiggled to, she almost earned the middle name wiggles.

Zoa loves to be swaddled and to sleep on her side just like her Mom Chelly. I have nick named her chow hound for the moment because she is always wanting to eat.

I was the first to change her diaper. It was not so bad thanks to the olive oil trick it was a snap, the only difference was we used coconut oil of course.

We have had a few sleepless nights and that was not so bad because we both took turns. Every time she cried I could get her to make the cutest sounds by lightly touching her tongue. She would think I was feeding her and she would make the cutest sound almost like talking.

It's almost time for her first bath, yesterday the umbilical cord leftover fell off. It looks like she will have an innee belly button. I always wondered how that worked, innee or outee? I guess its just happens.

Why did we name her Zoamore Rachelle? This is how I remember it coming together. I wanted a name starting with a Z and I liked Zoa or Zoe the best. Chelly dislikes Zoe so we both agreed on Zoa. Chelly didn't think just Zoa was pretty enough we we spent a few nights going over all kinds of names and what they meant in other languages. We found out that Zoa means Life and we really liked that. While trying all sorts of combination's like trying to pick a lock. Chelly said "what about Amore"? It means Love and passion in Italian, and since I'm Italian I liked it. So put them together and you have Zoamore which means Life of Love and Passion. Chelly also really liked the name Ray like a ray of sunshine. So this was the name that felt natural and had profound meaning and connection for us. As always we like to do things a little different. Now Rachelle (rah-shell), Rachelle is long for Chelly. When Laura changed her name when she was 18 she picked Rachelle because she always thought it was very pretty sounding. I asked her what she wanted to be called all the time and it has been Chelly ever since. So her middle name is after her beautiful Mommy Chelly.
